Buildings owned and used by entities in the public sector at state level must fulfil the minimum requirements for energy-related characteristics of buildings in accordance with the Law on Energy Efficiency and the regulations adopted in conformity therewith.

Entities in the public sector are obliged to monitor and manage the energy consumption in the buildings or building units where they conduct their business in a way that makes energy savings, and to implement the prescribed measures for energy efficiency improvements, which fall under their responsibility, in line with the NAPEE, the programs, and the annual plans.

Units of local self-government also have the duty to monitor and manage the energy consumption of the street lighting in a way that makes energy savings.

In order to fulfil its obligations, the Agency establishes and maintains its Information system.
